This morning, i TRIED to wake up. i slept at about 12am because of DS. i set my alarm for 4.00am but apparently, i counld not wake up. half and hour later, i finally awoke and washed up. reached HCJC at about 6.30am. met jielin and shiyun there. we took 156 to clementi bus interchange. then changed to 285 to tanglin secondary school as the Japanese school was just across the road or something. okay, when we reached tanglin secondary school, we had a real tour on how big the school was. we walked one whole round around the school plus through some HDB flats and back to the front gate of tanglin secondary school. well, i asked the security guard the direction to the Japanese school and TADA...we reached.

Firstly, we had to sign our name. Next, we had to change to the indoor shoes. ( Japanese culture: students have 2 pairs of shoes. they have to change into their indoor shoes when in school, and outdoor shoes when leaving school) then, we had to go into the room that seems to be a science lab to wait for everyone to arrive. in there, i learnt from Jielin and Shiyun that the sun rises from the East and the earth spins anti-clockwise. after a while, the Japanese students came. so sweet. they each made a card-like "stand" with our english name on one side and Japanese name on the other. then i found my partner, Takeuchi Ayumi. Reina was there too! and guess what? she is in dance now. AND. she is 14 years old! same as us and not younger. SHOCK~~

After smiling a bit and talking, we had to make our way to the hall. i stopped hyperventilating when Ayumi told me that self-introduction was later, and not in the hall in front of practically the whole school and staff. actually, i think there is only about 500 students in total? anyway, the exchange students (us) had to go up stage and they held the opening ceremony. the MOELC director's english and Japanese pronounciation is horrible. we were given flowers and had to sit on a row of chairs on stage. it was quite scary okay. when we entered the hall, the students were split into half, making a pathway for us to walk through. THEY ARE SURPRISINGLY TALL!
*lesson learnt - Do NOT think Japanese are short
ok, then they had speeches. after the opening ceremony, we made our way back to our own classes. luckily, i was in same class as Jielin. 2-1. Shiyun was unlucky, go secondary one class. 1-1.

We had homeroom first. i think my homeroom teacher was tanaka sensei. we had to do self-introduction first. in Japanese. i think i screwed it. ahh! after that, we had to go for english lesson. haha it was damn fun. i took up more than half the lesson. 1/2 hour you know. when the teacher came in, the boys argued that it is not yet lesson time, and is still resting period. then they went to wrestle behind the class. haha disgusting. two of them were locked together. ok. so the teacher went back out and came back again with worksheets. apparently, i was suppose to introduce myself in english while answering the questions on the paper. i had to speak slowly and use easy words, because it is like listening comprehension for the Japanese students. they had to write down my answers on the worksheet. asking questions such as 'How do you spell.....' / 'Could you say.........again' / ' You said........, but could you tell me more about it'
okay. here are the questions and my answers:
Name: Yu Shin
Nickname: Chia
School name: Nanyang Girls High
Birthday: 19 June
Age: 14
School grade: Secondary 2
Where I live: Bukit Panjang
Family: Father. Mother. Older brother. Younger sister.
Pet or favourite animals: Dogs
Favourite subjects: Japanese
Subjects I am not good at: Chinese
Favourite sport: Dance
What I do in my free time: Dance
Country i want to visit: Japan
Favourite Japanese singer: Yamada Ryosuke
How many years i have been studying Japanese: 2
Japanese words I like: katakana
What i want to do in the Japanese school: Go through the lessons

okay. then the teacher made each pair ask me a question.
'What is your blood type' : O
'Why do you like to dance' : It's cool
'Why song of Yamada Ryosuke do you like?' (asked by 2 guys) : Moonlight
'Why did you learn Japanese?' : I want to understand dramas and animes
'i forgot!'

yeps. there were only 10 students in that class! then, the teacher asked me to write my chinese name on the board. haha. muzukashi yo. after that, it was my turn to ask 3 questions about the school.

'What subjects do you have?': Japanese, English. geography.history.moral education.modern techonology.music.student meetings. etc etc
'What time does your school start and end?' : 8.30am - 4pm
'Do you have breaks and how long are they?' : in between each lesson there is 10minutes break, 35minutes lunch

then i could go back to my seat (i was doing all that in front of the class). and half an hour had passed! so we were left with 10minutes. the teacher decided to play a game. she had these huge cards which she put on the floor, then we were to gather around it. these cards had pictures in it. of cities, scenary or cartoon. she then read a paragraph about one picture and we were supposed to tap the card. whoever touches it first could keep it. person with most card wins. if 2 persons touch at the same time, they have to do jankenpo (scissors paper stone). if someone tap wrongly, he/she has to turn three rounds and say 'wan' ('woof' AKA a bark) so you can imagine how funny and FUN it was. i didnt get any hehe. but i think they play before! because the teacher say a few words and i see hands flying. one of the used a brokn beam to tap the cards. lol. the same one used his feet to tap another. haha damn funny. the last card was best. it was like almost everyone had to jankenpo.

After english lesson, we had to go for science. this was not a split class so the whole of 2-1 went to the science lab. i was seated with my partner. Fumi-chan and her partner, Ryosuke-kun and Yuki-kun. They claim to be very noisy and they were! haha. yuki was like ' i am the quietest' but duh he was damn noisy. our group NEVER pay attention AT ALL. haha so funny and FUN again. ryosuke and fumi kept fighting. they each held about 4 books in each hand and started hitting each other when teacher's back was to us. ryosuke then grab fumi's book and threw it on the floor behind. (we were last table at the corner) the moniter, one table away, picked it up and gave back to fumi. people around was like 'yasashii!' meaning kind-hearted. we were obviously attracting a lot of attention but still.......
you know, ryosuke and fumi play primary school stuff. haha. they grabbed each other's pencil case and took out everything untill one person return. lols. orh. and we totally taught them bad words. yuki asked what 'baka' in english was. so we said stupid. then he started saying stupid to everyone. ayumi was like 'shaddap'. then they kept doing their stupid and shaddup. so funny. then fumi asked what it was in chinese. so we said 'ben dan'. then yah, the group learnt again. then they learnt 'you're the worst' also. oya. yuki arh. taught me somthing cool. if you put 2 books together, and put one page from book one on top of one page from book two, and keep doing that until the last page, you realise you cannot separate the two books. well i didnt try lah but he proved it! anyway, to seperate them, you have to blow the book and when you pull again, should be ok. this is just cool and not funny. funny is what he said next: 'this is Japanese culture' hahahahaha 'no, my culture'
ok in the end. the teacher changed everyone's places.haha i hope it had nothing to do with the noise.

(OMG I HAVE BEEN TYPING FOR 1 HOUR.eat dinner first then i come back later)

(ok back from dinner)

Next, all the exchange programme students were seperated from the class and sent to play some Japanese games. kendama! 1st, we did paper wrestling. putting 2 papers (standing) on a board, and tapping the sides of the board. whoever's paper falls last wins. my paper was pikachu! but it was green! mutated pikachu won 3 out of 6 rounds. Jielin was overall champion for her group. secondly, we had to play a toy. forgotten what it is called.xP. anyway, have to move the ball and try to catch it with the wooden part. i don't know how to explain. ANW, it was SUPER fun.

after kendama, we went back to class for geography. spent the whole lesson staring at the atlas in JAPANESE. had to identify islands/rivers/places in thailand. then compare Japan's and thailand's population and stuff. my eyes almost died. but since it was so different from our daily NYGH stuff. time passed quickly! then the teacher read Japan's news and did a lot of actions. no idead what happened but people started saying opinions and ideas.

LUNCH. so cool! we connected tables and everyone took out bento. wow seriously! they HAVE a bento. mine was pathetic. was a pandan cake and small Japanese cakes. we talked a lot. and ate and ate. they started talking about my Japanese cakes. then my partner took one. the i asked the guy next to her if he wants. he say after he ate finish his bento. then when he done, he took one. then suddenly the person next to him say he want. then the guy next to me say he want. then the girl next to him say she want. in the end, almost half the class was screaming. the class moniteress was like 'urusai!' then silence for a while then the 1st guy was like : ' one more?' in the end, i left 3! hahahaha so funny. FUNNNNNNN

COOL PART. cleaning. the classes have to clean their class once a week. wait to you hear how they do it. the class is very cooperative unlike some class which i have very close relationship with. in 10 minutes, DONE. can you believe it?! and is 99.9999999% clean ok! ok the procedure is the cool part. everyone help push all tables to the back of class. people split into groups, guys and girls all help. some sweep. some wash the cloth. some USE ERASER TO ERASE PENCIL MARKS ON THE FLOOR. cool right! i was doing this lah.then you watch spirited away right? they clean the floor by putting the cloth on the floor and pushing in one straight row? THATS WHAT THEY DID. cool! i also helped with this. the other cooler thing is: THE TEACHER HELPED. he erased the floor also you know! SO DAMN NICE! unlike some lion i know: it is your responsibility to clean the class. i did not litter so i do not have to. if you want your class to be dirty, that is up to you, i don't care. if you caome back on Saturday, don't expect me to be here.ARGH
then everything is repeated after pushing the tables to the front this time. so clean the back.

after that, had free period i think. because there was no teacher and we started playing UNO. then the exchange programme people had to go to the hall for judo! wooooooooo so cool! fighting! we learnt how to 'fall'. wow its damn different from taekwondo. then we learn how to flip. then we paired up and did flipping!!! i paired with Shiyun. wow we pro ok. hehe.
1: left hand grab partner's sleeve, right hand grab the collar of the gi.
2: right leg step forward.
3: turn in a correct way and right hand change to grab the belt at the back of your partner.
4: flip!
DAMN FUN

after Judo, go back to homeroom. teacher did a closing. moniter and moniteress talked. many students say reflections for the day. someone read the homework and schedule. AHH TOMORROW I NEED TO SAY MY REFLECTIONS FOR TODAY.

END OF SCHOOL. had to go change back to outdoor shoes. i didn;t know but they had school bus. it was so funny. a teacher was counting down, rushing people to change their shoes quickly to board the bus.

after school, me and Shiyun went to clementi to buy present for our partners. we have to give them one at the end of the 3 days.

blahblahblah

tomorrow: going swimming!!! ahh i need a swimming cap! cause my hair will pom after wet. and i don't know what to bring for lunch tomorrow!!!!!!!

ok done. HASSHOU!
