♥ LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
VERY UNFORTUNATELY, today was the last day of school for me in the Japanese secondary school. I AM SO SAD. here goes the timeline.
4.45 am - alarm rang
5.00 am - woke up
6.05 am - left home
6.40 am - reach HCJC bus-stop
7.45 am - reach Japanese School
9.00 am - homeroom
- Design and technology (wood shop)
- Geography
- News reading
- Music
- Lunch
- Closing ceremony
- TAKE ALL THE DAMN PICTURES I CAN
4.00 pm - went home
5.30 pm - reach home
Morning. i was so damned tired. i did not even hear the alarm until it rang until halfway. and i snooze it twice! woke up, washed up, left at 6.05am? the morning is ok. today, my bag was the lightest! hahaha. for the previous days, it was VERY VERY heavy. but since my indoor shoes were left there, no need carry! yay. i juz had to bring writing materials and the present? good. i reached later than usual but me and Shiyun had to wait for Jielin again. 156 came quite fast and we reached the bus interchange at 7.06 am. made our way to the Japanese school soon and happy! nobody was there again...we just stood at the staircase, there have a mirror. then we started dancing at the stairs until the Japanese arrived. haha we did 'again and again' from the pumping part in one row. hahaha so fun
Homeroom was as per normal. but no need say speech. yet. during the silent reading i asked Ayumi to check my speech again. i wanted to collect numbers and names so i passed my file around. but only four of us the exchange students wrote properly. then i asked JIelin to pass to Hitomi during lunch. unfortunately, at the end of the day, only what, 5 girls wrote?! i think they thought we did not want the guy's de. haiz so sad. nvm i got pictures lah.
first lesson was gijutsu, the wood shop in this case. they built stuff with wood by themselves. wow. nanyang would never allow it. they were given one whole packet of materials and instructions, then they did everything themselves. the teacher just advice them. this lesson was for 2 periods, 2 hours. the first hour, they finished up their previous work, a photo frame. Ayumi finished her last time already so we just kept talking and exchanged culture. haha. i taught her rubberband tricks. like star, double-star (go LL), X,Y,V,L,I,O. then she taught me make the shape of the frog using hands. wood shop, i thought that it was very dangerous. they could handle hammers, screw drivers, some weird metal stuff, VERY sharp. at the end of the first period, one guy was walking around the class with the whole hand filled with all the metal sharp stuff. Hase was like ' ABUNAI' (meaning dangerous). at the other table, Nakamura was playing with a hammer. he kept smacking it onto his hands. then he let the others try. LOL. the second period, they had to start a new piece of work. that was shelves. either to store books or small things. they could choose from many designs and decide which one they wanted to do. they will start next week. anyway, the lesson was damn slack. oya, Ayumi was obsessed with the rubberband too. i told her that i kept playing with it during lesson and she said that it was bad. in the end, she was also playing during lesson until she got caught by teacher. ahahaha. they also had to collect materials for the next piece of work. it was this long thick wood in the plastic bag. BTW, seated at my table is Watanabe, Hase, Noda and Ayumi ( i asked them their name you know. all guys!). anyway, they were damn funny. Watanabe went to help the whole group take their materials, wah he damn strong sia. one was already like 1 or 2 kg and he carried like what, 5? he carried the whole stack, but since he was so tall, still ok lah. he said it was heavy and put it down in a stack on the table. after a while, he was like ' can i write my name on one first?' he went to write. it was stacked up so high that when he stood up, just nice he can write on the top one. so he started writing his name. then the others also ask him to help write theirs. his Kanji handwriting very nice, cursive de, like signing like that. that was what Noda said. he was like 'he looks like he is signing for fans'. ahahahah damn funny. its like so true, he stood in front of the whole stack and was 'signing' away. they had to write their class then index and name. EG: 2141 Takeuchi Ayumi (class 2-1, index 41, name takeuchi ayumi (in kanji lah)). Watanabe was asking Hase ' what number?' then Noda was like ' really like signing!!' then Watanabe was like ' Aaa. Noda-Kun desu ne.' in the voice like superstar when signing. Imagine like Mr Midnight signing books, we carry books to James Lee and he writes our name with a small note? saying like 'Yuxin, right?' to confirm name lah. YUP that was what Watanabe did. then we was like 'Hase-Kun desu ne' then he passed the wood to Hase. HAHAHAHA damn funny. Noda also! his voice went high pitch ' Kyaaa~ Kakkoi' x 5. meaning 'waaa, so cool!' like a fan girl. DAMN FUNNY OKAY. i think you have to be there to feel the atmosphere and i cannot explain in words lah. it was just DAMN FUNNY. so sad...last day. Next, Hase took out Noda's long skinny wood. he said 'lighto se-bar' (light saber from star wars) then he was like 'zyunn zyunn zyunn' while swinging the wood. hahaha. Noda was like 'Ore no da!' (it's mine!) he tried to take Hase's wood but failed. so he just imagined holding another light saber. they started 'fighting'. then Watanabe suddenly raised his hand! then Noda and Hase was like 'argh argh' (struggling as Watanabe was using the Force). chao funny!!!!
Next lesson was geography. we continued the previous worksheet. read my previous posts. the worksheet on Thailand. we finished it up and went through the answers. i thought that it was damn easy. well, i did not do the hard part. hehe. it is like normal geography worksheet. they had to infer what activities took place there and describe the agriculture and stuff. the part i did was just copying from the atlas.
News reading. Yep i did not understand at all. i was trying to memorize the names of classmates. i memorized two columns of people already! the third column. sadly, no time. in order. i shall post the names of people according to their seats one day, together with all the pictures i have. Names: Shibata, Akiho, Moriya, Shuri, Ninuma, Yumi, Kurita, Saho, Narimoto, Asuka, Horie, Hitomi.
Ayumi, Watanabe, Kasazima, Hase, Mutsumi, Michimoto, Yuka, Tomozawa, Rina, Sugimori, Kako, Igarashi, Noda.
The last column i have not memorized yet but: Yamamoto,Higashi, Takesako, Megumi,Takano, Fumi, Nakamura, Ayumi, Momose, Ayaka, Sanui, Akari
actually arh, i memorized names but not faces. so if you messed up the people, i don't know who is who le. okay, i know some lah! like all the girls and at least 8 guys.
after this, us exchange students had our own lesson thingy again. and today, we were learning music. the Japanese instrument, koto. it is actually like the chinese gu zheng. we learnt the song <<>>. but it has like 8 bars only? anyway,it was very cool. it like 3 in a group. each take turns to play. then we had to keep switching places. ><
finish already, then is LUNCH time!!! haha. very fun again. eyeing my lunch. but i think it is because i bring junk and they bring rice so they want to eat. after 'itadakimasu', i thought that my food was damn dry so i did not eat a lot. so after the Japanese ate finish theirs, they took it again. but not as violent as the previous 2 days. i took pictures during lunch too! unfortunately, only those at the back! because i was seated around the back. sensei posed for me too! haha fun sia. do you know when a camera is nearby, Japanese girls straightaway jump into the picture with peace sign? haiz i am so sad again.pictures are not enough.
after lunch, the closing ceremony. yep since there was no time we still did not do our closing speech. YET. we rushed to the hall. and like you see in the dramas, there were chairs in front of the stage. then all other students sat on the floor very neatly behind. orh i forgot to mention. do you know how they sit? they sit in the hugging knees pose. everyone. we sat with our buddies on the chair. AND. MICHIMOTO speaks good english. SHOCK~ Ayumi said he is first in the school. WOW. they introduce us and we had to go up stage one by one with our buddies to collect certificate of participation. for us it was in Japanese. for our buddies it was in english. Ironic. then, the Japanese gave a speech. Then we gave a speech. as in a representative lah. i was not very happy already because i thought there was no time to take pictures already. and i didn't even get enough contacts! ZERO guys! ARGH. PISSED. after the speeches by the teachers also, then we started playing games.
Game one: maru batsu ( circle and cross/ correct or wrong)
the MC asks a question, then the students either go to the left side, if they they think the statement is true. or to the right side, if they think it was wrong. ok damn funny. because we don't understand so we just followed the girls in class. THEY WERE TOO SIAN TO PLAY. they just sat there and talked. many other people also like that. when we got it wrong, just go to the back of the hall to sit. i think at the 1st round, my whole class went to the back. hahahah
Game two. same lah. only the statement was on the screen. but damn toot leh. they asked like: ' does nakamura kochou sensei have a child who likes to read?' and 'did nakamura kochou sensei used to play baseball in high school?' LOL HOW WE KNOW?!
Game three: lame but fun. people start to play jan ken po. then loser must go behind the winner's back and form a train. the whole school plays until only one train is left. so the person in front is the winner. hahaha although the relationship between the guys and girls are very good, the last two trains were boys VS girls. but the sensei stopped the game there. it was damn FUN.
after the games, we had to go down do survey and eat stuff. YAY. eclaires, samosa, pizza, sushi, sandwich etc etc. the jelly was damn hard. we all just threw it away. including the Japanese. 'cept the guys. i was very sad and pissed then already. because i did not get the class photo i wanted. so i was like bothering everyone, especially Ayumi. but she kept saying she don't know if can go back to class. ( we brought our bags with us already) She and Fumi went to ask the sensei and YAY we got permission! HAPPY! we took a few class photos. i shall post them next time. SADLY, since we were back in class, sensei made us give the speech. i totally forgot my script so i made it up on the spot. which totally screwed. so yeah. embarrassed. but i was very VERY sad. i was going to cry but i can ren lor. since like nobody cry like that. hahaha. sensei gave us their class newsletter. with US inside!!! hahah. i realised that Kasazima was a new student. No wonder he so damn quiet! and he sits next to me during lunch!i talked to him once. asking him to take my cookie. hahaha
i gave my present to Ayumi and she gave me a letter. WOW she put yamada's picture inside!!! HAHAHAHAH. orh and she likes UVERworld.
overally, i feel very happy and contented that i had this chance to become friends with one whole class in the local Japanese school. I hope that more of this type of programmes will come my way and i will try my best to get in. I think it is a very good experience to experience the Japanese school life and compare it to our normal NY life, which totally pales in comparison. How i wish i could turn back time and start all over again, and never stop. My only regret is that i was still too shy and did not take my chances to talk to the guys. and believe me, i had many chances. i want to meet all them again, in school or outside. haiz. so sad. 3 days is just too short. the memories will never fade...

♥ fortune cookies.
Aiyo, Xin, you having so much fun in Jap School.. then take Shi Yun with you. I am very sad leh. School was super boring today. SUPER DUPER!
The whole morning was lectures and speeches and briefings, most of it not even concerning most of the Sec 2s. I wanted to sleep lor. Even Val wanted to doze off halfway through the malay trip briefing. So I went up to around 202 down there and sat behind CW and started braiding her hair. Then I sent songs to my phone but got caught by one of the teachers. Apparently, today, a lot of people got caught playing with their itouch, phones, eating, drinking sweet drinks, etc, causing Mrs Wong to scold us like hell. Hu Lao Shi even ask people to go out to talk to them...
Lunch was... Had shooting meeting but only ZP, Si Yao and I went for it. I dont even know if I can go for training. Because I will be going away for most of December and I cannot go on any of the Fridays as I have ballet lessons at 3 plus. So I am so dead??
QSE was ok. Did a bit of MOE crap and started rolling around on the chair and talking to En Ning, Jolyn, Chia Wei, etc. But my com couldnt load in the end so I was quite peeved..
Whats next? EH... Group discussion? Most of it have nothing to do with me because I might not even go to Sentosa. Also discussed details on the sandwich-making competition. We really hope we are going to win (:
Then we did make up for all the actors for our drama fest. Rachel asked me to gel Joanne's hair but I thought it was rather useless. Zhi Yi took over Lois' role because she went missing today. There was not much news from her except that Clare said that she was peeved at us so she decided to "dump" us to "clean up". I thought that was very irresponsible of her, even if she was angry at the class (reason unclear).
Drama was rather hectic at first and I had quite a headache throughout the day already so it just got worse. I volunteered to be the one that stayed in the dressing room to take care of everyone's belongings. I was listening to music and fell asleep halfway because I slept really late last night. I woke up to find that Cher, Zhu Hong and JC came back already. Then Joanne, CW and RS returned. Some of them went inside the audi to watch the plays while JC and Joanne stayed with me and they started cleaning up and getting out of their costumes and makeup. CW helped me on the TV in the room so I can watch the plays as I didnt want to walk down anymore (I have been running up and down helping people get ready. Our room was on the 3rd lvl so it was rather tiring.). I thought some plays were weird and confusing.
The rest of the class came up after some time. They were taking class photos and everything so Liz and I sneaked off to 209's dressing room to help them take class photo. We were waiting outside our room waiting for them to finish taking the pictures. They were taking super long. Then Cher and ZH came up and Liz and I were like idiots, waving at them from upstairs... We all went inside to find RS posing like MJ, which looked rather cool. The class wanted to take more photos and I end up hiding in the toilet because I didnt want to take pictures. All Val's fault... She told the class I was hiding. En Ning climb up a chair and "summoned" me from the toilet cubicle after the photo taking..
We went into the audi for the closing of today's drama fest. Our class did not make it to the finals or win any individual awards, which was rather disappointing.. BUT! I think our class did our best and tried our hardest to make this drama fest one of the most memorable events of our Sec 2 year. 201'09 YOU ROCK! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH (:
My sis and I went to KAP after the drama fest to buy halloween candy for tomorrow. By the time we left, it was about 7pm. SO LATE! I reached home, packed stuff for sandwich-making competition, packed the candy, eat dinner, use com, bathe, use com, eat...
So here I am now, in front of the computer, blogging and posting at 12.22am. It is rather late and my eyes are closing..
GOOD NIGHT!

♥ SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL
WAHHH. 2nd day finished le! means left ONE day. ahh i cry. my god i am going to miss everyone and even the school itself. haiz.
time line go!
4.30 am - alarm rang
4.30 am - woke up
6.00 am - left house
6.30 am - reach HCJC bus-stop
7.45 am - reach SJSS
9.00 am - homeroom
- swimming
- Japanese
- hyaku nin yi shuu
- cooking
- lunch
- break
- mathematics
- english
- reflections
4.30 pm - dance
5.30 pm - go home
Morning. woke up half an hour later than yesterday, planning to meet Jielin and Shiyun at 6.45am instead of 6.30am. but, i still reached HCJC at 6.30am. luckily, Shiyun was earlier! hahaha. then we waited for Jielin because she just woke up. took 2 pictures with Shiyun at the bus-stop! Oya. apparently mama wensong saw me at the bus-stop. and he knows i going Japanese school! who tell de arh? then finally Jielin arrived! reached damn early at 7.30am. earlier than yesterday. well, we did not tour tanglin secondary school today. it was damn early you know. the school bus have not reached yet so nobody was there. we just went to put our bags in class and walked around the school. hehe
then, everyone arrived. do you know, from about 8.15am or earlier to 9.00am. they do SILENT READING! wow. very pro you know. seriously silent reading. nobody talk at ALL. pro sia. our school arh, DIE lah. homeroom. ok i think i gave my speech on my reflections of yesterday quite ok lah. not very screwed. because i was totally trying to memorise my speech during silent reading. Ayumi helped me check too. oya. i forgot to mention yesterday. do you know all classrooms have aircon! COOL right. anyways. during homeroom, had 3 teachers. just ignore them lor.
after homeroom. first lesson - swimming. i kind of regret going and not regret going. i specially went to buy a swimming cap for swimming today. because you know if my hair wet, my straightening effect gone mah. and wearing the cap is damn toot. the swimming pool is in their school! SHOCK! i did not know! it is across the soccer field at the other end. and the toilet no cover de! as in doors for each cubicles! ahh. me and Jielin and a raffles girl classmate, Yun Zhen, used my towel to cover each other. we were the last to emerge from the toilet. very awkward. ok PARADISE.
JAPANESE GUYS. OUR AGE. SWIMMING LESSON. SWIM TRUNKS. WOOOOOO HOT GUYS. JAPANESE HOT GUYS. of course, their swim suit is like bermudas lah. so not obscene. i did not really look also. SHIT I REGRET THAT. well, because i wanted to safe my hair by wearing a damn toot cap. so no face to see others. the teacher was the angmoh again. we did backstrokes. dang it. as ever, i cannot swin in one straight line backwards. embarrassing! anyways. first we did warmups and stretches. then had to hold the swimming board and swim 4 laps, using our legs. then 4 laps with the floating thingy between our legs, so now using arms. then, the real backstroke 8 laps. SCREWED. after we are done, i took out my cap and OHGOD. i tell you. it completely did not work. hair all wet. and badly messed up. tsk. Jielin saved my hair by combing sideways. until i look like my VERY normal self. x.x
went back to class after this. oh and made a new friend during swimming class. RINA.
next lesson was Japanese. wow cheeminology. they were reading this passage and doing comprehension. quite easy (some parts) since it was like just copy and paste. it was in the textbook so i could not do much. i started drawing out the sitting plan of the class and asked Ayumi to write down the name of everyone. then, the principal of the Japanese school suddenly came in! when he saw what i was doing, he just laughed. haha. orh. the thing i understood during Japanese lesson was about '-sama' and '-dono'. ( with elaboration from Ayumi) I cannot bring myself to call my classmates by their surname leh. though it is normal for them. Ayumi said that i do not have to add '-san' or '-kun' or '-chan'.
After Japanese, the exchange programme students had to go for this Japanese game called hyaku nin yi shuu. actually, it is like a haiku. 5 words, 7 words, 5 words then 7 words, 7 words. we had to pair up for this game. its like a competition between the 2 people. each take 10 cards. sensei will read out the haiku, and we suppose to tap the card with the last 14 words while saying 'HAI!' loud and clear. i proudly say i won Yun Zhen 69/100. it was surprisingly fun.
after the game, we exchange programme students had to go for cooking lesson. we made the Japanese snack OKONOMIYAKI. delicious! my first time seeing and eating and making.
Step one: half a cup of water (100 cc)
Step two: add one egg
Step three: add the mix
Step four: stir till fine
Step five: put in chopped up cabbage
STep six: put in chopped fishcake
Step seven: stir
Step eight: put into frying pain (with oil inside)
Step nine: put meat onto the flat food
Step ten: flip the food when one side is done
Step eleven: decorate!
it was filled with cabbage so i did not really enjoy it. it also made me feel like puking. thus, i just had a very small piece. still it was very filling. Orh and the teacher was damn cute. it like everytime she something, we will exaggerate like shit by saying 'EHH~~~~' Japanese way. her husband is singaporean and she have had been here for 30 years. WOW o.O
after cooking was lunch already. wow because we just finished the okonomiyaki, i was very full.
therefore, i did not eat my bento. haha i think because of yesterday's funny happening, i was hoping something will happen today again. i was not disappointed! hahahaha. when i brought out my pathetic lunchbox with my Japanese small biscuits from NTUC, peanut butter ritz and chewy the oats bar ( 2 of the), i caught Watanabe (the 1st guy who asked for my lunch yesterday, sitting in front of Ayumi. but since lunch we connect tables, he is diagonal from me) talking to the guys near him, eyeing my lunch and making faces. i just drank my water and stared lor. Jielin better, she slept during lunch, but kana 'scolded' or informed politely that she should eat something for the school lunch. Japanese culture? anyways, after Watanabe finished his bento, he showed both hands to me, as in like asking for something, and said ' HAI~', meaning my lunchbox. then i gave it to him lor. then the guy next to him, Hase, snatched it. Watanabe took it back and was like 'Ore no da' (it's mine). but when he opened. CHIONG ARH. people from the other groups came again. in the end, i left 3 biscuits. HAHA. i had at least 20. i personally asked the guy next to me, Kasazima, because he like very quiet and shy. he also took. LOL. so left 2. wah lau damn funny lah. in the end me and Shiyun ate at the bus-stop after school.
After lunch, it was a short break. we girls played UNO again. and i took photos!!!! YAY. tomorrow i shall take the whole class. UNO was damn funny. Fumi, Yunzhen's buddy was damn funny. she was at 'uno' already lah, and she was seated next to Jielin. then Jielin had the colour changing card. then Jielin said 'aka' (red). Fumi then said in the very gentle and sweet voice (which is damn weird because she is the very rowdy type, add on the Japanese accent in english) ' aka? you sure? are you sure? green wa good' Jielin shook her head and was like 'aka. fullstop' then everyone did not put out green! haha. anyways, in the end i WON! because Rina helped. she reminded me to say 'uno' at my 2nd last card. Ayaka was sabo-ed just now, she uno game and everyone voted that she did not say 'uno; so not counted. she tried making a vote about me not saying uno but haha everyone support me!
Mathematics was next. this was separate classes and i was with YunZhen. it was kindda ok lah. we were like isolated from the class as they had to change sit. so we were given the worksheet first. they had to draw lots and everything so they took a long time. the guys started arguing also. Ayumi and Fumi and a few more people came to us. we exchange numbers and email! yay. anyway, maths worksheet was on angles, which we learnt during primary school. but unfortunately, i forgot le! YunZhen helped me a lot. then amongst all the noise, the other students got the worksheet too. the teacher came to us and asked how the paper was. YunZHen was like 'easy~'. then teacher was like 'easy? EASY?! EHH!!' then she told the whole class that we thought it was easy. i think it was suppose to be difficult for them. Watanabe was like 'DOU YUU KOTO DA!' very loudly and fiercely. meaning ( Why is this!). haha damn funny. then the whole class was like 'EHH????!!!' then teacher was like 'atama ga ii yo ne' (smart). i seriously thought that it was not easy but not difficult.
ENGLISH. damn disappointing. i thought it would be the same as yesterday's class. but NO. a lot of people from other classes were here too, and the teacher is very bad tempered. but we played game lah. first was speed reading. he timed us. finish then raise your hand. i finished in less than a minute and duh is the fastest. the latest was like 2 minutes. then the next game was 6 in a group. everyone number from one to six. everyone goes to sleep. and teacher wakes a particular number of each group to look at the screen which contains a word or phrase. the group is suppose to use these words to form a sentence. my group WON! and not because of me. don't know why but one of them like know all the answers. hahaha. AND. unfair ok. sometimes the english can have to ways to say.
e.g. ' If you want, we can go swimming' and ' we can go swimming if you want'
' you can live with her for two weeks' and 'you can live for two weeks with her' (ok PS this sounds wrong)
after this, went back to class.had the reflections again. wow it is the same group of people everyday have to say their reflections. then we had to say again. haiz. slip-shot lah.
today is Japanese school CCA day. CCAs are on wednesday and thursday. i went for the dance de. REINA WAS THE LEADER OD DANCE CCA YOU KNOW. AND SHE CAN DANCE. stretching was damn tiring. its like sit-ups with only your head leaving the ground. then must lift leg, straighten leg, bend leg, at the top and bottom plus the sides, doing all while sit-uping. then had to lift leg slowly and put down slowly. i thought i could do it but NO. difficult lah! next was moving the arms. this one also can die. i think we did for damn long. don't wan to elaborate. we showed them jerk it out and did splits for the camera. haha. apparently the Japanese cannot do. we learnt a dance to 'what time is it' (HSM 2) which is difficult leh. i have time then master it lah.
GO HOME. yay.
tomorrow is closing ceremony. AHH so sad. last lesson. i am going to ask for EVERYONE"s number and email. and take loads of pictures. still need give a speech of thanks. sian! orh and i left my indoor shoes in the school. cool right. me and Shiyun too lazy bring home.

♥ boring day in school
Woah! Twin, I never expected such a long post... And so soon! (: WELL DONE! (okay. that was stupid)
Hello! I actually dont know what to say...
It is 11.03pm now. I am still not sleeping. This is going to cost me tomorrow during boring speeches and drama performance. I forgot to hand in the passport stuff by the way, which is going to cost me too when everybody comes after me. I am not sure if tomorrow hand up will die or not.. Stupid drama. Distract me...
Today.. is boring. Nothing else to say. Seriously. Got back Geog paper, had recess, got back Maths paper, got back AEP paper, got back Chinese paper, had AEP briefing, had drama rehearsal, come home, eat, sleep, wake up, use com, posting...
I left my wallet in school today. So I had to borrow $$ from Chloe to take bus home. Because I am so forgetful, I had no $$ to go Shop&Save to buy Halloween candy for my class and others. So stupid. Which means I have to buy tomorrow. This will cause me to return home really late. Aiyo.
I have nothing to say really. I dont even know why I am posting. Just bored I suppose. How pathetic. My life is obviously less interesting than Twin's. With her good results, good family, a lot of money, etc etc (GOOD LIFE), her life obviously is better than mine (terrible results, okok family, not a lot of money, etc etc). Not that my life isnt good. It is much better compared to others. But it is just not as good as Xin's.
Ok, my mind is blank. I am currently listening to "Superman" by Five for Fighting. Old song, but brings back some fond memories (:
Now it is 11.13pm. It is surprising how I type one short post in 10 mins. But I had to think about what to write.. which I dont usually do...
P.S. Xin, you straighten your hair? Oh and my boating trip was postponed to 3/11/09 to 5/11/09. So it is shorten.. which is a bit disappointing.

This morning, i TRIED to wake up. i slept at about 12am because of DS. i set my alarm for 4.00am but apparently, i counld not wake up. half and hour later, i finally awoke and washed up. reached HCJC at about 6.30am. met jielin and shiyun there. we took 156 to clementi bus interchange. then changed to 285 to tanglin secondary school as the Japanese school was just across the road or something. okay, when we reached tanglin secondary school, we had a real tour on how big the school was. we walked one whole round around the school plus through some HDB flats and back to the front gate of tanglin secondary school. well, i asked the security guard the direction to the Japanese school and TADA...we reached.
Firstly, we had to sign our name. Next, we had to change to the indoor shoes. ( Japanese culture: students have 2 pairs of shoes. they have to change into their indoor shoes when in school, and outdoor shoes when leaving school) then, we had to go into the room that seems to be a science lab to wait for everyone to arrive. in there, i learnt from Jielin and Shiyun that the sun rises from the East and the earth spins anti-clockwise. after a while, the Japanese students came. so sweet. they each made a card-like "stand" with our english name on one side and Japanese name on the other. then i found my partner, Takeuchi Ayumi. Reina was there too! and guess what? she is in dance now. AND. she is 14 years old! same as us and not younger. SHOCK~~
After smiling a bit and talking, we had to make our way to the hall. i stopped hyperventilating when Ayumi told me that self-introduction was later, and not in the hall in front of practically the whole school and staff. actually, i think there is only about 500 students in total? anyway, the exchange students (us) had to go up stage and they held the opening ceremony. the MOELC director's english and Japanese pronounciation is horrible. we were given flowers and had to sit on a row of chairs on stage. it was quite scary okay. when we entered the hall, the students were split into half, making a pathway for us to walk through. THEY ARE SURPRISINGLY TALL!
*lesson learnt - Do NOT think Japanese are short
ok, then they had speeches. after the opening ceremony, we made our way back to our own classes. luckily, i was in same class as Jielin. 2-1. Shiyun was unlucky, go secondary one class. 1-1.
We had homeroom first. i think my homeroom teacher was tanaka sensei. we had to do self-introduction first. in Japanese. i think i screwed it. ahh! after that, we had to go for english lesson. haha it was damn fun. i took up more than half the lesson. 1/2 hour you know. when the teacher came in, the boys argued that it is not yet lesson time, and is still resting period. then they went to wrestle behind the class. haha disgusting. two of them were locked together. ok. so the teacher went back out and came back again with worksheets. apparently, i was suppose to introduce myself in english while answering the questions on the paper. i had to speak slowly and use easy words, because it is like listening comprehension for the Japanese students. they had to write down my answers on the worksheet. asking questions such as 'How do you spell.....' / 'Could you say.........again' / ' You said........, but could you tell me more about it'
okay. here are the questions and my answers:
Name: Yu Shin
Nickname: Chia
School name: Nanyang Girls High
Birthday: 19 June
Age: 14
School grade: Secondary 2
Where I live: Bukit Panjang
Family: Father. Mother. Older brother. Younger sister.
Pet or favourite animals: Dogs
Favourite subjects: Japanese
Subjects I am not good at: Chinese
Favourite sport: Dance
What I do in my free time: Dance
Country i want to visit: Japan
Favourite Japanese singer: Yamada Ryosuke
How many years i have been studying Japanese: 2
Japanese words I like: katakana
What i want to do in the Japanese school: Go through the lessons
okay. then the teacher made each pair ask me a question.
'What is your blood type' : O
'Why do you like to dance' : It's cool
'Why song of Yamada Ryosuke do you like?' (asked by 2 guys) : Moonlight
'Why did you learn Japanese?' : I want to understand dramas and animes
'i forgot!'
yeps. there were only 10 students in that class! then, the teacher asked me to write my chinese name on the board. haha. muzukashi yo. after that, it was my turn to ask 3 questions about the school.
'What subjects do you have?': Japanese, English. geography.history.moral education.modern techonology.music.student meetings. etc etc
'What time does your school start and end?' : 8.30am - 4pm
'Do you have breaks and how long are they?' : in between each lesson there is 10minutes break, 35minutes lunch
then i could go back to my seat (i was doing all that in front of the class). and half an hour had passed! so we were left with 10minutes. the teacher decided to play a game. she had these huge cards which she put on the floor, then we were to gather around it. these cards had pictures in it. of cities, scenary or cartoon. she then read a paragraph about one picture and we were supposed to tap the card. whoever touches it first could keep it. person with most card wins. if 2 persons touch at the same time, they have to do jankenpo (scissors paper stone). if someone tap wrongly, he/she has to turn three rounds and say 'wan' ('woof' AKA a bark) so you can imagine how funny and FUN it was. i didnt get any hehe. but i think they play before! because the teacher say a few words and i see hands flying. one of the used a brokn beam to tap the cards. lol. the same one used his feet to tap another. haha damn funny. the last card was best. it was like almost everyone had to jankenpo.
After english lesson, we had to go for science. this was not a split class so the whole of 2-1 went to the science lab. i was seated with my partner. Fumi-chan and her partner, Ryosuke-kun and Yuki-kun. They claim to be very noisy and they were! haha. yuki was like ' i am the quietest' but duh he was damn noisy. our group NEVER pay attention AT ALL. haha so funny and FUN again. ryosuke and fumi kept fighting. they each held about 4 books in each hand and started hitting each other when teacher's back was to us. ryosuke then grab fumi's book and threw it on the floor behind. (we were last table at the corner) the moniter, one table away, picked it up and gave back to fumi. people around was like 'yasashii!' meaning kind-hearted. we were obviously attracting a lot of attention but still.......
you know, ryosuke and fumi play primary school stuff. haha. they grabbed each other's pencil case and took out everything untill one person return. lols. orh. and we totally taught them bad words. yuki asked what 'baka' in english was. so we said stupid. then he started saying stupid to everyone. ayumi was like 'shaddap'. then they kept doing their stupid and shaddup. so funny. then fumi asked what it was in chinese. so we said 'ben dan'. then yah, the group learnt again. then they learnt 'you're the worst' also. oya. yuki arh. taught me somthing cool. if you put 2 books together, and put one page from book one on top of one page from book two, and keep doing that until the last page, you realise you cannot separate the two books. well i didnt try lah but he proved it! anyway, to seperate them, you have to blow the book and when you pull again, should be ok. this is just cool and not funny. funny is what he said next: 'this is Japanese culture' hahahahaha 'no, my culture'
ok in the end. the teacher changed everyone's places.haha i hope it had nothing to do with the noise.
(OMG I HAVE BEEN TYPING FOR 1 HOUR.eat dinner first then i come back later)
(ok back from dinner)
Next, all the exchange programme students were seperated from the class and sent to play some Japanese games. kendama! 1st, we did paper wrestling. putting 2 papers (standing) on a board, and tapping the sides of the board. whoever's paper falls last wins. my paper was pikachu! but it was green! mutated pikachu won 3 out of 6 rounds. Jielin was overall champion for her group. secondly, we had to play a toy. forgotten what it is called.xP. anyway, have to move the ball and try to catch it with the wooden part. i don't know how to explain. ANW, it was SUPER fun.
after kendama, we went back to class for geography. spent the whole lesson staring at the atlas in JAPANESE. had to identify islands/rivers/places in thailand. then compare Japan's and thailand's population and stuff. my eyes almost died. but since it was so different from our daily NYGH stuff. time passed quickly! then the teacher read Japan's news and did a lot of actions. no idead what happened but people started saying opinions and ideas.
LUNCH. so cool! we connected tables and everyone took out bento. wow seriously! they HAVE a bento. mine was pathetic. was a pandan cake and small Japanese cakes. we talked a lot. and ate and ate. they started talking about my Japanese cakes. then my partner took one. the i asked the guy next to her if he wants. he say after he ate finish his bento. then when he done, he took one. then suddenly the person next to him say he want. then the guy next to me say he want. then the girl next to him say she want. in the end, almost half the class was screaming. the class moniteress was like 'urusai!' then silence for a while then the 1st guy was like : ' one more?' in the end, i left 3! hahahaha so funny. FUNNNNNNN
COOL PART. cleaning. the classes have to clean their class once a week. wait to you hear how they do it. the class is very cooperative unlike some class which i have very close relationship with. in 10 minutes, DONE. can you believe it?! and is 99.9999999% clean ok! ok the procedure is the cool part. everyone help push all tables to the back of class. people split into groups, guys and girls all help. some sweep. some wash the cloth. some USE ERASER TO ERASE PENCIL MARKS ON THE FLOOR. cool right! i was doing this lah.then you watch spirited away right? they clean the floor by putting the cloth on the floor and pushing in one straight row? THATS WHAT THEY DID. cool! i also helped with this. the other cooler thing is: THE TEACHER HELPED. he erased the floor also you know! SO DAMN NICE! unlike some lion i know: it is your responsibility to clean the class. i did not litter so i do not have to. if you want your class to be dirty, that is up to you, i don't care. if you caome back on Saturday, don't expect me to be here.ARGH
then everything is repeated after pushing the tables to the front this time. so clean the back.
after that, had free period i think. because there was no teacher and we started playing UNO. then the exchange programme people had to go to the hall for judo! wooooooooo so cool! fighting! we learnt how to 'fall'. wow its damn different from taekwondo. then we learn how to flip. then we paired up and did flipping!!! i paired with Shiyun. wow we pro ok. hehe.
1: left hand grab partner's sleeve, right hand grab the collar of the gi.
2: right leg step forward.
3: turn in a correct way and right hand change to grab the belt at the back of your partner.
4: flip!
DAMN FUN
after Judo, go back to homeroom. teacher did a closing. moniter and moniteress talked. many students say reflections for the day. someone read the homework and schedule. AHH TOMORROW I NEED TO SAY MY REFLECTIONS FOR TODAY.
END OF SCHOOL. had to go change back to outdoor shoes. i didn;t know but they had school bus. it was so funny. a teacher was counting down, rushing people to change their shoes quickly to board the bus.
after school, me and Shiyun went to clementi to buy present for our partners. we have to give them one at the end of the 3 days.
blahblahblah
tomorrow: going swimming!!! ahh i need a swimming cap! cause my hair will pom after wet. and i don't know what to bring for lunch tomorrow!!!!!!!
ok done. HASSHOU!
